CBS is preparing to bring more familiar characters from the Blue Bloods series into the Boston Blue show.
Several members of the Reagan family are expected to appear in the first season of this hit series. Len Cariou, best known for his role as Henry Reagan in the long-running police drama, will debut in the new series in an upcoming spring episode. Meanwhile, Bridget Moynahan and Marisa Ramirez are also expected to return to the series later in the season.
Donnie Wahlberg apparently inadvertently revealed details during an online discussion with the Television Critics Association while discussing Danny Reagan’s storyline after his transfer from the New York Police Department to the Boston Police Department. These statements were later corroborated by articles from TVLine and Matt’s Inside Line, which also provided details about specific episodes featuring returning actors.
TVLine reports that Len Cariou will appear in episode 13, scheduled to air in April. Meanwhile, Bridget Moynahan is expected to return in episode 17, scheduled to air in May. Additionally, Matt’s Inside Line confirms that Marisa Ramirez will rejoin the series in episode 15, also airing in April.
Wahlberg suggested that upcoming episodes would explore the consequences of Danny’s decision to switch departments. He also noted that unresolved tensions still linger between Danny and Baez after their last meeting. “I think there are still many other aspects, right? Of course there’s Maria, and I think they’re trying to work things out,” the actor said.
The Boston Blue series is scheduled to return with episode 10 on Friday, February 27th, at 10 p.m. on CBS.
