SHOCKING NEWS!!! EastEnders confirms Libby’s important role in emotional Jordan storyline

EastEnders star  Belinda Owusu will return to the BBC television series next week as Libby Fox, a character who will immediately be drawn into a whirlwind of drama following personal tragedies.

The actress made a surprise appearance in a flashback scene in January, but will return with a longer role as she participates in two storylines involving her mother, Denise, and her nephew, Jordan.

While Denise was battling illness after being diagnosed with leukemia, Jordan suffered a serious spinal injury after being hit by a car driven by Ian Beale while he was intoxicated.

Libby returns to Walford to support both sides and reunite with her half-sister Chelsea. The two quickly become close after a little initial awkwardness, but Libby discovers that Chelsea has received checks from Sheila, Gray Atkins’ grandmother.

“Libby was surprised, but she immediately sensed that Chelsea had no intention of getting involved,” Owusu explained. “However, that piqued her curiosity. Given Chelsea’s overwhelming burden of caring for Jordan and their financial struggles, Libby saw this as a potential source of support.”

“She’s very conflicted – she respects Chelsea’s boundaries but also believes it might bring some relief,” the actress added, and then explained her character’s contradictory decision to contact Sheila.

“Libby wasn’t there to experience everything firsthand with Gray, and that shaped her perspective – she probably would have acted differently if she had been there,” she commented. “She saw the immense pressure Chelsea were under having to support both Jordan and Denise.”

“She felt the additional financial burden was too great. Libby is a practical person, though somewhat naive about the risks. In her mind, if this could help Jordan and ease the burden on Chelsea, then it was worth considering.”

Naturally, this shocked Chelsea, but she eventually agreed to meet Sheila to hear what she had to say. Libby was surprised by her half-sister’s change of mind, but she was nonetheless glad that they seemed to share the same perspective.

While Sheila “condemned  ” Gray and his crimes by saying “all the right things,” Libby took a huge risk, and it remains to be seen how the Fox family will perceive her decision.

“It was a difficult balance, wanting what was best for Jordan while also being aware of the risks,” the actor explained. “They kept it a secret from the family because Chelsea were still hesitant, and they wanted to assess the situation without any further interference from outside.”

“Since Denise had started treatment, they didn’t want to add to the anxiety, especially since they felt things were under control. But of course, nothing stays a secret for long at Albert Square.”
