Tragedy struck Blue Bloods star Robert Clohessy: His passing shocked Hollywood
Will Hochman will reprise his Blue Bloods role in the Boston Blue finale, airing tonight (May 22) at 10/9c on CBS. Hochman appears as Joe Hill, Danny Reagan’s (Donnie Wahlberg) nephew, in a promo for the Season 1 finale shared by the network.

The Boston Blue Season 1 finale is titled “Patrol.” In it, Danny spends a day on cop, not detective, duty, patrolling the streets of Boston with his son, Sean (Mika Amonsen). In the video below, Wahlberg says they really wanted to lean into the humor of Sean outranking his dad at work for a day.
Joe appears near the end of the video with Sean and Jonah (Marcus Scribner). He’s helping set up family dinner at the Silver house. Marisa Ramirez returns as Maria Baez in the promo, too, as do Lena’s (Sonequa Martin-Green) dad and half-sister, Chris (Erik King) and Christina (Alisha Wainwright). Wahlberg previously teased that Danny and Baez might get back together in the finale.
“She’s in [Season 1 Episode 15], but she’s coming back for the finale,” Wahlberg told Parade. “I think if anyone feels sad this week, they’ll probably be happy with [the ending]. That’s all I can say.”
In another promo (at the top of the page), Danny yells that they have an officer down during a high-stakes investigation. He yells for Lena in another moment. The episode is also going to feature a big cliffhanger. Wahlberg told TV Insider that there’s a lot of loss in the finale.
“There’s a lot of resolution in the finale up against a lot of loss,” Wahlberg warned. “But for all the characters in their lives, there’s a lot of resolution that allows us to move forward.” Don’t worry, Boston Blue has already been renewed for Season 2, so all questions will be answered.
Here’s the official logline for the finale: “A dangerous investigation collides with pivotal personal and professional decisions, pushing the team to their limits. As the D.A. election draws closer, shifting dynamics and an unexpected incident heighten the urgency and raise new questions for everyone involved.”

There are a handful of Danny and Baez photos from the finale in the gallery below. Danny, Baez, Mae (Gloria Reuben), and Edwin (Ernie Hudson) all appear in a hospital in the images, and Baez seems to be comforting Danny in a chapel. Is someone from their families injured in the aforementioned investigation? Scroll through the gallery below for another look inside the Season 1 closer.
